Since 1997, the Web Marketing Association's annual WebAward Competition (www.Webaward.Org) has been helping interactive professionals promote themselves, their companies, and their best work to the outside world. Now in its ninth year, the WebAward Competition has become the premier award event for Web developers and marketers worldwide. Staffed by volunteers, it is made up of Internet marketing, advertising, PR and design professionals who share an interest in improving the quality of Website development, promotion and marketing on the Internet.
Website awards are a great way to recognize talented individual and team efforts in outstanding Website development and generate marketing for the winning Website. The international WebAward Competition is the premier Web site award program available today.
The 2005 WebAwards will name the best Website in 85 industry categories. Nomination will come from agencies and in-house marketing departments in more than 22 countries from around the world.

Entries will be judged by a panel of independent Internet experts in such areas as design, navigation, innovation, and usefulness to target audience. There are four WebAward award levels : Best of show ? There can only be one web site voted "2005 WebAward Best of Show". The designers of this site will receive special recognition in addition to a personalized plaque to announce this highest achievement. In 2004, the winner was Arc Worldwide for their work on Behr Paint, which also won Best Interactive Services Website. Other past winners have also included: Disney Online for Hot Shot Business, Campbell-Ewald Advertising for their work on Accelerate Your Life, NAVY. Agency.Com for British Airways, Stan Lee Media for Stanlee.Net and Rare Medium for Artmuseum.Net. Best of industry ? This WebAward is a head-to-head competition against those sites entered in the same industry category. A handsome award plaque containing an engraved image of the winning site will be presented to each Best of Industry winner. A list of industry categories can be found on the entry form. Outstanding web site ? In recognizing that several outstanding sites may be entered in the same category and only one site can win Best of Industry, this award allows the Web Marketing Association to recognize work above and beyond the standard of excellence. Winners at this level will receive a personalized WebAward certificate recognizing their achievement. Standard of excellence ? This WebAward recognizes the standard of excellence for which all corporate web sites should strive. Winners at this level will receive a personalized WebAward certificate for their efforts. All winners will have their web site highlighted on the WebAwards web site and be offered an icon link that can be added to their home page recognizing their achievement. A press release and PR campaign will also be used to announce the winners to the world. Judging Each WebAward entry is judged against a standard of excellence and then against other entries in the category. A certain minimum score must be achieved to qualify for a WebAward. Only one Best of Industry will be given in each category (except in the case of a tie) and one Best of Web will be awarded. However, the Outstanding Web Site and Standard of Excellence WebAwards may have multiple winners in each category. If all scores in a particular category are below the standard minimum, no award will be granted for that category. Entries will be judged on the following seven criteria : Design Innovation Content Technology Interactivity Copywriting Ease of use Winners :- Please join the Web Marketing Association in congratulating Arc Worldwide for winning 2004 Best of Show for their outstanding work on "Behr Paint Interactive" which also won Best Interactive Services Website. According to one WebAward judge Behr Paint Interactive site was inventive and useful, well architected and highly navigable. It offered not only beauty but also a high degree of functionality. It was tightly designed and used technology in a subtle but highly effective manner. Congratulations also go to to Arnold Worldwide for being named Top Agency for 2004. Arnold won more awards than any other single firm in this year's competition, taking home 13 WebAwards. In 2002 and 2004, the top agency was awarded to Fry, Inc.
