It is normally observed that motors/compressors etc operate at 50-60% of their full load for most of their time during day and night. This is beacause they have to accomodate the worst case conditioned. When the motor is on partial-load or no-load, it requires less power. Unfortunately the motor has no way of intelligently adjusting the amount of electricity they draw by the motor when it is on no-load/partial load, which is then lost as heator vibration.

ECOPOWER Energy Saver uses a programmed microprocessor system to estimate the actual power needed by the motor or compressor under different load conditions. It is constantly monitors the ''efficiency'' of the motor, by comparing relative phase angles and back emf, and ensures that input power to the motor is matched exactly to the load as it changes. Even the slightest variation in demand is sensed. If the Motor calls for more power, then the Ecopower responds by increasing the power supplied to the motor in 100th of a second; as the motor load decreases then the power input is reduced. This results in intelligent optimization of voltage and current at all times. Apart from this it also improves the part load efficiency of the motor, which icreases the part load efficiency of the motor, which increases the life of the motor. In the whole process the peak voltage is uneffected and the speed and instantaeous torque of the motor is unchanged. Once the motor has reached full speed, the EcoPower optimizing mode searches for the minimum power required ensuring that the maximum continuous rating of the motor is matched exactly to the load as it varies.
